Does anybody in Chicago want a free sailboat?

Sadly, the Austin household must reduce the amount of #Boatlopnik in their lives.

We have an 11' one seater (2 seater if you want to feel really cozy) fiberglass sailboat we’re giving away if anybody is in the Arlington Heights area.

It needs some cleaning, but it power washes well and needs a new rudder (just a chunk of board) and a dagger board (also just a chunk of board). The sail is a tarp sewed by my grandmother, and my dad and his cousin made the tiller and the mast.

They used to take it on the Fox River and some other bigger lakes, so it floated when parked. Seriously though, I would love to see it go to someone to use and have fun with rather than a landfill.

I don’t think so. I couldn’t find an indication of brand, but the ones on Google Search didn’t have noses that broad. But it is the same idea as a Laser.

True, didn’t even notice the broadness of the nose. Yeah, not a Laser.

Dammit, of course you have to be 6ish hours away. Probably a good thing though.

4 hours away from me, and I don’t have a drivable truck. Dang.

13 hours. Is it worth it? Yes, of course. Will my wife let me take two days of vacation and spend $300 on food, fuel, and lodging just to get it?
